Here I am and there you are...

My name is Kerry "Doc" Pardue, I am a 100% service connected disabled Vietnam Veteran. I served as a combat medic with three units, the first a dispensary in Plieku, the second a dispensary in Ban Me Thout, and lastly a Recon Platoon, 2/47th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division in the Delta about 60 miles south of Saigon. I currently live in Chanlder, AZ near my three children and 8 grandchildren and my wife, Stephanie.

I am active the organization called Medics-Corpsmen and serve as the National Commander. I work with wood and make doll houses and write. I started writing quite by accident. I never intended to be a poet nor share any of my feelings and thoughts about Vietnam. As I began to try to find help for my PTSD I found by writing I was able to put on paper words that brought healing to myself and others. My writing took the form of poetry and I felt comfortable writing that way.

I have one book out entitled Poems In The Keys Of Life: Reflections of a combat medic, Publish America 2005. I am about to release my second book, Rice Paddy Stew & Saigon Tea. As I become familiar with your site I will begin to submit poems to read.
